Our clients have taught us a lot over the years. One of the most important being knowing when to walk away from a deal. Trying to see objectively through rose colored glasses can indeed be difficult. But if the math doesn’t add up, if there are venting or construction obstacles that cannot be overcome, if lease clauses such as assignment, percentage rent, or demolition are detrimental factors…then consider passing on that site…no matter how enticing it looks! There are other sites, other deals to be made.
